Double Duos is a unique combination of four instrumentalists and a voice, mainly performing repertoire from the “Golden Age” of shows from the 1920s to the 1950s.
Two clarinets/saxophones, a horn and a double bass recapture the glamour and excitement of the periods through special arrangements written to exploit the strengths of this ensemble.
Double Duos delivers a warm and varied sound, which can be enhanced by a vocal line to add versatility to the performances.
Double Duos gives you the full instrumental treatment. If you want to hear the instrumental quartet plus vocal talents of Dorothy Withers or Russell Hawkins, you need to book Double Duos Plus
Venues can range from small, intimate rooms to larger halls and churches. Outdoor events can also be catered for, with the styles of performance varied to suit the clients requirements.
Work can additionally be undertaken with Show and Operatic Societies for special events, cabaret, and fund raising evenings, to give something with professional impact and lower cost than a full band (but still with a big sound). This will give more depth than just performing with piano.
Special arrangements of favourites can be undertaken (with sufficient notice) for your special event.
